It is the University's custom to honour former members of staff and students who have given their lives in the service of their country.
About this Event

Armistice Day falls on Tuesday 11 November 2025 and staff, students and members of the public are invited to attend the University’s Act of Remembrance Service and observe the Two Minute Silence. Those who wish to attend are asked to assemble in the John Viriamu Jones (VJ) Gallery, Main Building at 10:50am to allow proceedings to begin on time.

The Service will be led by President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wendy Larner, Co-ordinating Chaplain, Rev Delyth Liddell & the University Multi-faith chaplaincy.

Please note that access to the VJ Gallery from the horseshoe drive entrance of Main Building will be closed from 10.50am - 11:20am and access from the Park Place entrance will only be permitted for those attending the Act of Remembrance during this time. Staff and students will be asked to present their university ID cards. There will be no access to the first-floor gallery from the VJ Gallery for the duration of the Service and access to the Science Library will be restricted.

Access through Main Building via the School of Chemistry and School of Earth and Environmental Sciences entrances, will be permitted by university ID card during this time.

Please do not bring large bags into the VJ Gallery. If smaller bags are brought, it is a condition of entry that attendees allow their bags to be checked for security purposes.

Staff and students using Main Building between 10:50am - 11:20am on 11 November, are kindly asked to keep noise to a minimum.

Bydd Diwrnod y Cadoediad yn cael ei nodi ddydd Mawrth, 11 Tachwedd 2025 eleni. Dyma wahoddiad i staff, myfyrwyr a’r cyhoedd i ddod i Wasanaeth Coffa’r Brifysgol a chymryd rhan mewn dwy funud o ddistawrwydd. Gofynnir i’r rhai sy’n dymuno bod yn bresennol gwrdd yn Oriel John Viriamu Jones (VJ) yn y Prif Adeilad am 10.50am er mwyn i’r digwyddiad allu dechrau’n brydlon. Mae croeso i bawb. Cofrestrwch i ddod, gan fod nifer y lleoedd yn brin.

Bydd y Gwasanaeth yn cael ei arwain gan y Llywydd a'r Is-Ganghellor, yr Athro Wendy Larner, y Caplan Cydlynu, y Barchedig Delyth Liddell, a Chaplaniaeth Aml-ffydd y Brifysgol.

Nodwch na fydd modd cael mynediad i Oriel VJ o fynedfa’r Prif Adeilad ar Rodfa’r Bedol rhwng 10.30am a 12.00pm, a dim ond y rhai sy’n mynd i’r Gwasanaeth Coffa a fydd yn cael mynediad o faes parcio Plas y Parc yn ystod y cyfnod hwn. Bydd gofyn i aelodau o’r staff a myfyrwyr ddangos eu cardiau adnabod. Ni fydd modd cael mynediad i’r oriel ar y llawr cyntaf o Oriel VJ yn ystod y Gwasanaeth, a bydd mynediad i’r Llyfrgell Gwyddoniaeth wedi’i gyfyngu.

Bydd mynediad i’r Prif Adeilad drwy fynedfeydd yr Ysgol Cemeg ac Ysgol Gwyddorau’r Ddaear a’r Amgylchedd yn cael ei ganiatáu drwy ddangos cerdyn adnabod staff/myfyriwr yn ystod y cyfnod hwn.

Peidiwch â dod â bagiau mawr i mewn i Oriel VJ. Os oes gennych fag sy’n llai o faint, un o’r amodau mynediad yw eich bod yn caniatáu i'ch bag gael ei archwilio at ddibenion diogelwch.

Gofynnir yn garedig i’r staff a’r myfyrwyr sy’n defnyddio’r Prif Adeilad rhwng 10.50am a 11.20am ar 11 Tachwedd gadw’r sŵn mor isel â phosibl.
