About this Event
The crafty cardboard creations and their crews will sail (or sink!) in our lap pool while competing for trophies.
Rules for boat creation:
- Create boats from only corrugated cardboard and duct tape of any color. Any other materials such as glue, caulk, wood, nails, etc., will disqualify the boat and team.
- Oars meet the same construction requirements as the boats.
- All exposed cardboard must be covered in duct tape to prevent disintegration in the pool.
- Decorate your ship and crew however you’d like!
- Please come with your boat already built.
- Two people, wearing life preservers, must be in the boat during the race.
- Minimum age for boat sailing is 7 years old. Any age may help construct boat.
- Life preservers will be provided.
- Cardboard is available for pickup at the Great Outdoors Waterpark if needed.
A minimum of 10 registered boats is required, or the regatta won’t float.
