Carcass and Ghosts of Western Australia form a haunting double bill that traverses ruin, memory, and resilience through music, dance, and story. In Carcass, composer Steve Richter joins forces with contemporary dancers Annmarie Clifton-James and Jo Omodei to create a visceral performance born from the rusted remains of a deconstructed piano. Using extended techniques, looping, and raw movement, the work transforms decay into sound and dance, exploring the fragile beauty of what remains after collapse.
In Ghosts of Western Australia, author and story-teller Stephen Scourfield and Richter turn their attention to the state’s abandoned towns. Through spoken word and live music, they conjure echoes of vanished communities, weaving fragments of history and imagination into an evocative journey through silence, landscape, and memory.
