Join us for this conversation with Professor Mike Meredith of British Antarctic Survey on "Climate change a view from the poles"
About this Event

After a very brief AGM, our speaker, Professor Mike Meredith of British Antarctic Survey will discuss “Climate change, a view from the poles“.

Mike will share his thoughts with us about the emerging understanding of the interconnection between our carbon emissions, polar oceans and ocean circulation, and how these changes may in turn impact the UK.

About Professor Michael Meredith

We are thrilled that Mike has agreed to share his thoughts with us about the emerging understanding of the interconnection between our carbon emissions, polar oceans and ocean circulation, and how these changes may in turn impact the UK.

He is Joint Director of the UK National Climate Science Partnership, a new initiative that is linking the UK’s climate science capability to develop and deliver climate solutions for Government. Previously he was Science Lead at British Antarctic Survey, where his own research still centres around ocean circulation and climate.

He has published more than 250 papers in international journals, was a Scientific Consultant to the BBC on the documentary series including “Blue Planet II” and “Frozen Planet II” and advises politicians and stakeholders on responses to climate change
