(Four Performances Only!)

Written and Directed Sky Gilbert

Starring Keith Cole and James Gibson-Bray

With music by Stewart Borden and the Borden/Gilbert Team

November 20 - 23, 2025

This new one-act play written and directed by Sky Gilbert tells the comic tale of a young gay man navigating the complex and confounding waters of the present day Toronto gay scene.

Brett is an enterprising young actor who has just scored a part time job at the ‘gay’ shoe store in the Church Street village, only to find this new opportunity complicated by a boss who seems to be impressed by more than just his talent as a salesman. Confused, Brett calls on his friends — a pair of Siamese twins, and a handsome genius digital engineer — for help. Each and every one of Brett’s friends recommends that he seek out the eminent Sir Greg, the famous and well respected owner of the fabulous Greg’s Cookies store on Church Street, for advice. There is certainly something magical about Sir Greg, who seems capable of solving all gay — or gay related —problems.

Capucelli’s Shoes stars Keith Cole as both Mr. Capucelli and Sir Greg, and James Gibson-Bray as young Brett — with special guest virtual cameo appearances by Kirsten and Sigrid Johnson and Nathaniel Bacon. This new original comedy also features music performed by pianist and composer Stewart Borden as well as an original song by the Gilbert/Borden songwriting team!

Capucelli’s Shoes is 60 minutes of sheer gay fun! It is the third one-act piece in a series of ‘Sir Greg plays’ written by Sky Gilbert— following in the footsteps of Greg’s Cookies (2023) and My Little Brony, The Musical (2024).

Reviews of My Little Brony:

Most of this plays out, quite obviously, like a children’s cartoon. And there is something sort of… well, magical about it all.” Istvan Dugalin

Turns out that two pony-loving nerds in heat can melt the most jaded of hearts. Friendship is magic and so is My Little Brony.” Drew Rowsome

Reviews of Greg’s Cookies:

There is an absurdist, intimate quality to all these antics that I greatly appreciated. The characters feel iconic and the cast really sell their weird personae. This isn’t quite pantomime, but still very deliberately and deliciously arch.” - Istvan Dugalin

Greg’s Cookies brings to life a number of societal issues, serving as a critique of how The Village has changed, and it is also wildly funny and beautifully acted.” — Raymond Helkio
