In this workshop, you'll focus on creating close-up pastel paintings of sunflowers. Kris will demonstrate techniques for painting sunflowers in a detailed, tight format, starting with an alcohol underpainting. Please bring close-up photos of sunflowers saved on your iPad or phone, ideally taken in bright sunlight with strong shadows. If you have photos of bouquets, try cropping them to focus on one or two flowers with leaves. Kris will also provide some live flowers, if available, for additional inspiration. Supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
