The Hyser Rivers Museum is the home of Dr. William Hyser, who became Captain William Hyser of the famed Michigan 6th Cavalry Regiment in the Civil War. He led Companies F and D in some of the fiercest fighting met by mounted Union horsemen against Confederate troops, and in fact, had at least two horses shot from under him. The Plainfield Grand Rogue Historical Society plans to honor his remarkable service in a special display that will open Saturday, September 6 (10am - 5pm) & Sunday, September 7 (1pm - 5pm), 2025.
