Capt’n Trips and The Kid are a 6 piece rock band from Malaysia that formed in 2016. The band consists of Jes Ishmael, Yaqub Zulkifli, Que Dean, Sean Totten, Uzayr Khalid and Omar Aiman. Since their conception in 2016, the band has released one EP (SROOM) and two studio albums – The Paraverse (2017) and Iteration 33 (2020).The band has always worked independently and this is showcased best in 2019 when the band hosted their own music festival, Danky Grove that saw bands like Lust, Jaggfuzzbeats, Golden Mammoth, Alien Lipstick Fire, SaJE, Allester Shaun and themselves play an intimate set to 300 people from the roof of Jes’s house. They have been fueling their projects with the passion to explore life through music and community and hope to continue improving and adding to their body of work.
