Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art that incorporates dance, acrobatics, martial arts, and rhythm. It teaches spatial awareness, balance, focus, cultural appreciation and serves the practitioner in self defense. It originated from the Africans enslaved in Brazil who used it to defend themselves while disguising the training as a dance or harmless game. Today, Capoeira is practiced all over the world.
