Free in The Spirit Room:Cap’n Seabeard originated as a solo project and alter ego for a the folk songwriting of Christopher Schumacher. He started to hone in his craft writing, traveling and performing on the streets and anywhere that would hire him. Now, roughly eight years later, Cap’n Seabeard has mushroomed into an umbrella term for a project consisting of an alternating cast and crew with a sound to match. Playing alternative folk and bluegrass, Jon Talberg and Maria Lewis are the most consistent members; but the lineup often includes other musicians Christopher has met through the years.
