Victory Soul Orchestra (Albany, NY) is a hometown horn-funk favorite, inspired by the dirty sounds of New Orleans brass and old-school hip-hop. Staples of the 518 music scene since 2014, their efforts combined help create a funk/rap show that brings the house down. You can find them fronted by vocalists JB!! AKA Dirty Moses and Dalisa Soto.In January 2019 they released their first album, ‘Astrobeat’. Their song ‘Suspension of Disbelief’ was featured on the hit podcast ‘Welcome to Nightvale’. The band's sophomore release, Vudu, was released in 2025.VSO was awarded Favorite R&B/Soul/Funk Act at the 2022 Listen Up! Awards, and the same award at the 2023 Eddie’s Awards.
