About this Event
Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon with a double feature. CAPCOM GO! will be presented, followed by Back to the Moon for Good.
CAPCOM GO! revisits that moment from July 20th, 1969, when 600 million people around the world gathered to witness a historic moment of human achievement broadcast live from the Moon. It was on this day that the world celebrated as astronauts took their first steps on the Moon. But few people were aware of just how huge an effort it had taken to get them there. These Apollo 11 astronauts were just 2 of nearly 400,000 people who had worked over ten years towards this goal. Learn how they did it and what it took to put humans on the Moon. )Back to the Moon for Good takes audiences through a successful launch, landing, and lunar surface travel. It highlights the engineering and innovation steps taken by internationally distributed teams who competed to land a spacecraft on the Moon.
