The Canton Fire Department is excited to announce its annual Open House, in celebration of Fire Prevention Week. This event will take place on Saturday, October 12 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Fire Station #1, located at 1100 S. Canton Center Road. The Open House is a family-friendly event designed to educate the community on fire prevention while providing a behind the scenes look at the daily operations of the Canton Fire Department. Admission is free, and no prior registration is required. Light refreshments and giveaways will be provided.
Event Highlights:
Station Tours: Explore the fire station, check out our firefighting equipment, and learn more about the tools and technology we use to keep Canton safe.
Fire Vehicle Displays: From an ambulance to a ladder truck, you’ll get to see all the trucks up close. This is a great opportunity to take a picture right next to a fire engine.
Fire Safety Demonstrations: Lean essential fire safety tips, such as “Stop, Drop and Roll”, through live demonstrations by our experienced firefighters.
Meet the Firefighters: Meet the men and women who serve our community and hear firsthand about their experiences and the importance of fire safety.
Kids’ Activities: Enjoy fun, educational activities for children, including trying on fire gear, a scavenger hunt, and discovering the Fire Safety House.
The Open House is being held in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week (October 6-12) to promote fire safety in the community. This year’s theme is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!”. For further information contact the Canton Fire Department office at 734/394-5455.
