Join the Canterbury Mini Car Club on a family adventure to follow (or ride!) the Weka Pass Railway. Date May 19th for the morning train run. The train departs Glenmark Station in Waipara at 11:30am and takes approximately 45 mins to get to Waikari. The return train to Glenmark is at 1:00pm for 35 mins.Meeting at 10:00am at The Peg in Belfast, for a 10:15am departure, we will travel in convoy along SH1 to Waipara, Glenmark Station. The 40 min (approx) drive time will allow us all to park up to take photos and admire the train before its departure. Adults $17.50 return
Child $7.50 return (Note: all children must travel with at least 1 adult)
Depart Glenmark Station 11:30am - Depart from Waikari 1pm, arrive Glenmark 1:45pm.
The rest of us will drive along Weka Pass to greet the train in Waipara. Again, photo-stop to see the train and meet those who had a ride on it. Bring a picnic lunch or snacks, otherwise there are eating options in Waikari at The End of the Line Cafe, Waikari Kitchen and The Star & Garter Hotel.
Bring the kids and let them have a ride on the train! We're also running a colouring competition for anyone wanting to enter. Prizes of Whittakers chocolate blocks for the best efforts! Download and print the attached pdf to colour in and enter on the day. Judging and prizes will be given out on arrival at Glenmark before the train leaves.
