About this Event
Celebrating Irish Heritage in the Caribbean
We are celebrating Irish heritage in the Caribbean, which dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries when Irish immigrants, often indentured servants, arrived alongside enslaved Africans. Many of them settled in islands such as Jamaica, Barbados, and Saint Lucia, influencing local culture through language, music, and religious practices. Over time, Irish descendants in the Caribbean formed unique communities, blending Irish traditions with African and indigenous influences, contributing to the region's rich cultural mosaic.
