Don’t write off the dog days of summer for 2025 just yet! El Paso County Parks & Recreation is excited to announce a brand-new community event: Dog Swim Season at Ascarate Pool, located at 6900 Delta Drive. This special series kicks off with the inaugural ‘Canine Fiesta’ on September 6, followed by regularly scheduled ‘Pup Swim’ days in the month of September.The season begins with Canine Fiesta, a fun-filled kickoff event happening on Saturday, September 6 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event is designed to give dogs and their owners a unique opportunity to enjoy the pool together. The celebration will include a cutest outfit contest and a dog paddle competition, offering a playful atmosphere for families and pets alike.
Registration will only be available on the day of each event; entry is $2 per dog; owners swim free. The following participation guidelines will be strictly enforced:
• Proof of current rabies, distemper, and parvo vaccinations is required and will only be allowed in.
• All dogs must be accompanied and supervised by an owner at all times.
• Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
