Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) says “howdy” to dog lovers from across Ventura County and beyond and invites them to the 2025 C.A.R.L. Pooch Parade. This year’s theme is “Rescue Roundup” so attendees and their four-legged friends can wear western-themed costumes including bandanas and cowboy hats. The 2025 Pooch Parade takes place at Ventura Harbor Village 1583 Spinnaker Drive in Ventura (grassy area) on Sunday August 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.The event’s lead sponsor is Cumulus Media (owner of Groovy 106.3 KBBY 95.1 KHAY 100.7 and KRUZ 103.3) which will host a booth at the event. Once again Ken Vela will serve as emcee announcing the Parade that includes a lineup of dogs and their owners and other activities. Proceeds from the event support C.A.R.L.'s mission to advocate for animal welfare and work towards ending the needless deaths of companion animals through its adoption education and outreach programs.

“This year’s Pooch Parade expressly demonstrates our volunteers and staff’s quarter-century-long commitment to C.A.R.L. and its mission of supporting animal welfare and the adoption of companion animals to loving homes” said C.A.R.L. Board President Grace Cunningham. “We could not have achieved this milestone without the dedication of our rescue community.”
Vendor booths will also be on site offering canine-related products and services and C.A.R.L. will bring adoptable dogs to the event. Miss Ventura County Teen Volunteer Madisen Janiga will walk in the Parade.
“Dog lovers of all ages can walk in the Pooch Parade and visit vendor booths while enjoying the breeze at scenic Ventura Harbor” said Executive Director Sharon Clark. “We look forward to welcoming long-term and new attendees at this year’s Parade.”
Cost to attend the event is free. The early bird rate to walk in the Pooch Parade which begins at 11:30 a.m. is $35 per person plus a $4.19 Eventbrite fee (non-refundable) by August 18. Attendees can also purchase tickets on the day of the Parade and all walkers will receive a complimentary event T-shirt. Parade teams must consist of at least 4 adult participants. Parking in Ventura Harbor’s lots on weekends is $1 per hour for up to four hours but street parking is free. Attendees can also purchase a day pass for the Harbor’s lots for $10 at the Beach and Village lots.
