LA MANO PELUDA
Fondée en 2010, cette soirée montréalaise rassemble tous les mois des centaines de danseurs en quête de rare groove afro, caribéen, latin, et brésilien. A travers leurs voyages, La Mano Peluda et Phil Noel, créateurs et DJ de Canicule Tropicale sont en recherche constante de disques oubliés. Le champ d'action de ces deux diggers est large : l'Afrique, l'Amérique latine, les Caraïbes, le Moyen-Orient, l'Asie... Ces disques venus d'ailleurs sont également d'une autre époque, entre 1950 et 1990.
Canicule Tropicale a invité à partager ses platines de nombreux acteurs majeurs de la scène tropicale : Quantic, Emile Omar (Radio Nova/Tropical Discoteq), Beto (Soundway), Frederik Lavik (Soundway/Afro7), Paulo Goncalves (Superfly Records), Rickard Massip (Soundway), Vik Sohonie (Ostinato Records) pour ne nommer qu’eux.
