Candlemas is a Christian feast day that celebrates the presentation of Jesus in the Temple of Jerusalem. It is celebrated on February 2, forty days after Christmas, and is also known as a festival of light with the blessing of the candles. The Nunc Dimittis comes from when Simeon’s wish was fulfilled when he met the Messiah in the temple. (Luke 2:25-38). A chili cook off will follow in Paca Parish Hall.
