Candlelit Yin Yoga & Yin Nidra returns to Tuesday nights beginning September 23rd!Come enjoy your favorite regular weekly Yin Yoga class in a candlelit studio. (candlelit class will run through the end of March 2024)
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body, that are typically underused in a more active style of asana practice.
Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
Yin Nidra Classes ( when specifically scheduled) run from 6-8pm. Nidra – also known as Yogic Sleep – is a state of consciousness similar to the process of drifting off to sleep. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of their inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This state of consciousness is different from meditation in which concentration on a single focus is required. Yoga nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.
