An invitation to remember and honour those who have lost their lives to family violence with a candlelighting ceremony in Hobart. Please join the network of Southern Tasmanian Domestic and Family Violence Services (DVCC) for this moving event.Candlelight Vigils will be held simultaneously in Tasmania, Victoria, ACT, Western Australia, Queensland and South Australia on Wednesday 7th May 2025.
For every death due to family violence there are hundreds of thousands of women and children with a lived experience of emotional, physical, sexual and economic abuse. In fact, one in three women in Australia have experienced physical or sexual violence from someone they know.
The vigil is a tribute to those who lost their lives and honours people who live with, resist and survive violence.
