About this Event
CANCER BIOLOGY MEMBERS: Get ready for the CB department’s 2025 retreat! This one-day event, which will be held at Broad Institute, will feature talks by CB trainees and a few faculty, posters, and Keynote speaker. Please attend to hear about research in CB labs and meet your fellow scientists in the department. Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be served. The scientific portion of the retreat will be followed by a reception with light bites and drinks in the Broad Institute lobby. Please join us for an exciting day of great science and community!
Scientific presentations by trainees, the trainee/PI lunch, and the Keynote lecture are all back by popular demand!
Scheduled speakers this year are from the Buhrlage, Gu, Roberts, Sicinski and Zhao labs. Other talks will be selected from abstracts submitted by January 10, 2025. Please note that priority for talk selection will be given to labs that have not already been assigned a speaking slot.
*New this year* More trainee talks selected from the abstracts! Poster Ads during the talk sessions! This is limited to the first 10 trainees who sign up to advertise their poster, so register soon!
If there is enough interest, we will be coordinating tables to discuss suggested topics during lunch. Let us know in the ticket order if you are interested in hosting a table, and let your admin know if you have a topic suggestion.
All researchers, particularly trainees and postdoctoral fellows, are encouraged to present posters. It is a great way to get feedback on your research and practice your presentation skills in a supportive environment. Submit an abstract by Friday, January 10, 2025, at 5:00pm for your poster abstract to be considered for a trainee talk. Notifications will be sent via Eventbrite email.
MONETARY PRIZES for selected oral presentations and best trainee posters will be announced prior to the evening reception beginning at ~5:45pm. Stay to hear the winner and for light bites and drinks!
Register by February 1 to guarantee you get a free gift!
Registration and abstract submission to present a poster close on Friday, February 14.
The design contest is back: please submit your design for our mug and/or lanyard giveaways! The winner will receive a monetary prize.
