Originally slated to coincide with Easter festivities, this eagerly awaited event promises an unforgettable fusion of world music, dance, art, and cuisine, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Moffat Beach. From the rhythmic beats of traditional drummers to the tantalising aromas wafting from international food stalls, every moment at FESTURI is a sensory delight.
Dominique B. Cisse, Artistic Director of FESTURI, shares the vision behind this spectacular celebration: "We're creating more than just a festival; we're crafting an immersive cultural experience that brings people together, ignites passions, and fosters unity."
While the skies may have temporarily clouded our plans, the spirit of FESTURI shines brighter than ever. Terry Landsberg, President of WindanSea Boardriders, affirms the community's unwavering enthusiasm: "The collaboration between FESTURI and the surf community promises an electrifying synergy that will captivate hearts and minds."
Originally planned as a collaboration with the WindanSea Boardriders' Pa and Ma Bendall Memorial Surf Competition, the festival aimed to enhance the entertainment offerings for families and visitors alike.
However, inclement weather necessitated the postponement of the event, much to the disappointment of the community.
Despite this setback, the excitement and anticipation for FESTURI Moffat Beach remain palpable.
FESTURI will continue to keep an eye on the weather forecast to ensure you stay dry for the upcoming festival.
Incorporating the energy and enthusiasm of the surf community, the FESTURI Moffat Beach Festival promises an eclectic blend of music, dance, arts, crafts, and culinary delights from diverse cultures worldwide. Terry Landsberg, President of the WindanSea Boardriders emphasises the synergy between FESTURI and the surf group:
"We have many multicultural surfers in our organisation. We think having FESTURI on board is a great fit for our surfing community."
With performances by local and regional multicultural artists, international food stalls, surf stalls, and a bustling FESTURI Kids festival featuring immersive workshops, face painting, animal petting, kids rides, and activities, the festival invites attendees to embark on a journey of cultural discovery and celebration.
