Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad (CPKC) has announced the schedule for the 2025 Holiday Train.The Holiday Train will arrive in Joplin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29.
The CPKC HOLIDAY TRAIN combines an engine and train cars decorated for the season. One of the center box cars converts into a stage for a live 30-minute holiday music performance.
Though CPKC promotes several entertainers supporting the year’s program, Smash Mouth and J.J. Wilde will perform for the Joplin stop.
The 2025 CPKC Holiday Train will tour Canada and the United States from November 19 through December 21, raising money, food, and awareness to support food banks across the communities it transits. Professional musicians play a free concert from a seasonally decorated train's stage. CPKC donates to the local food bank at each stop and encourages attendees to donate monetary or heart-healthy food.
Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $26 million and collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.
Parking is limited in the Union Depot area. The rough natural terrain can be challenging for people needing assistance.
Patrons are asked to access the Union Depot grounds from “B” and N. Main Street.
