Your registration includes all of the plenaries, breakout sessions, conference meals and activities on Friday and Saturday, including our celebratory dinner on Saturday evening. Please feel free to purchase a ticket for your guest to attend the dinner as well. A cash bar will be available.

You will be on your own to explore nearby restaurants and enjoy your time in Victoria on Friday evening.

2. PRECONFERENCE WORKSHOPS on Thursday October 24th.

WORKSHOP ONE → Ultrasound Nerve Hydrodissection* 0745-1630h (meals are included)

Join Dr.'s Jannice Bowler, Francois Louw, Jon Chow and Adrian Gretton as they work through nerve entrapment syndromes systematically and guide participants in practicing ultrasound techniques for nerves and locating nerve entrapment regions on each other. There will be some live HD demonstrations as well.

Pre requisite: must have advanced beginner or intermediate ultrasound skills.

*This ticket is not included in your conference registration and can be purchased along with your conference tickets.

WORKSHOP TWO → Perineural Injection – The Lyftogt Method* 0745-1700 (meals are included)

Join Dr. David Bowler, Dr. Jennifer Moss and Dr. Keith Weber for a full day of instruction.

Dr John Lyftogt is a sports medicine physician living on the South Island, New Zealand.

John has spent many hours investigating the effects of dextrose on peripheral nerves and has developed courses teaching this method. This involves subcutaneous injections of D5W to Valleix (constriction) points along the course of cutaneous nerves, resulting in rapid changes in the chemistry around the nerve and resolution of nerve swelling and thus diminished pain.

In one day, you can learn enough to begin this simple, safe and effective therapy in your offices the next week (it does take longer to become experienced at it of course), and you will be amazed and gratified at the responses you will achieve. This technique is ideal for use at a sports med or family practice: quick, effective and only utilizing the most basic of supplies for injections.

Target audience: Family physicians, Sports med physicians, ER physicians, NDs, nurse practitioners

*This ticket is not included in your conference registration and can be purchased along with your conference tickets.

WORKSHOP THREE → Sport Medicine Ultrasound Canada – Ultrasound Scanning Training for Injections (2 Streams)

0900-1700h at the conference venue. (meals are included)

Join Dr. Frank Johnson and his team for a full day of instruction.

SMUC has partnered with CAOM to bring you ULTRA-HIGH YIELD ultrasound scanning training for injections. Over the course of this 1-day scanning workshop, you'll learn to scan, scan and scan some more. Injecting is great, but you have to be able to find your target before you can inject it!

Stream 1: A relative beginner to MSK Ultrasound. This will review Shoulder Bursitis, Shoulder Arthritis, Elbow Arthritis, Knee Arthritis, Hip Arthritis, Ankle Arthritis.

Stream 2: for those who have completed more than 50 ultrasound-guided injections and are very comfortable scanning and injecting all of the Stream 1 targets listed above.

Subacromial/deltoid Bursitis, LHB Tendonitis, AC Joint Separations, Glenohumeral Arthritis, Lateral & Medial Elbow Tendonitis, Elbow Arthritis, De Quervain’s, Thumb Arthritis (CMC & MCP), Knee Arthritis, Anterior & Medial Knee Pain, Hip Arthritis, Hip Bursitis & Tendonitis, SI Joint Arthritis, Plantar Fasciitis, Ankle Arthritis, Achilles Tendonitis

*Please note this is not a prolotherapy training workshop. We will teach you how to scan to perform a classic cortisone, PRP or viscosupplementation injection. You will scan each other - but no injections will be practiced and no cadaver lab is included.*

*This is not included in your conference registration and can be purchased along with your conference tickets. Please visit Dr. Johnson’s website to register

Registration Fee: $1250.00 for each stream which includes a $250 off a future 3-day boot camp voucher.
