November's study will be conducted by Bro. Amanda Bush as he asks the question, "Can Synchronicities be Evidence of a Collective Unconscious?"
Synopsis:
Among the many puzzles of human experience, synchronicities—those uncanny coincidences that feel charged with significance—have long captured the imagination of philosophers, artists, writers, musicians and psychologists alike. For Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961), Swiss psychiatrist
and psychoanalyst best known as the founder of analytical psychology, such events were not mere chance but possible expressions of a deeper layer of the psyche: the collective unconscious.
Mission Statement:
The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.
