Synopsis:
As a business we are constantly being asked to enter into contracts, from our IT supplier’s licence agreements to our key customers’ ‘standard’ terms of purchase. You may not appreciate it at the time, but these contracts are the lifeblood of your company, dictating the terms on which you can operate and what you can do if the relationship begins to break down or turn sour. But do you know how and when to negotiate these contracts? Can you even ask to change another party’s terms if they are a big name?

Speaker bio:
Edwina Bones is a senior associate solicitor at Laceys Solicitors in Bournemouth. She has over 16 years’ worth of experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, having acted for and on the other side of all types of businesses from small start-ups through to household names. This includes working in-house on secondment for a national retailer. Edwina has been recognised in the Legal 500 (the trusted guide to the legal profession) as having an “incredible knowledge and a drive to do things right’ and is passionate about helping businesses protect themselves through properly-drafted contracts.

FOUNDRY is across two floors above Poole Bus Station. To access go to first floor of Dolphin via stairs from bus station or escalator outside HMV. Entrance to Foundry is opposite side to the stairs that go up to Library.

By train: Poole Railway Station is just 6 minutes walk away via Falkland Square and Dolphin Centre
By bike: Beryl Bike and Scooter stands in both Bus Station and Kingland Crescent. Secure bike storage available on request.
By motor bike: free parking in motor bike bay on car park side of service road at back of FOUNDRY
By car: From Dolphin multi-storey car park (level F) take bridge into Dolphin Centre, turn right at end of corridor and follow to end of first floor.
