Mikhail Shapiro, professeur de génie chimique à Caltech et chercheur à l'Institut Médical Howard Hughes, présentera les avancées de son laboratoire qui développe des technologies biomoléculaires permettant d'imager et de contrôler les cellules à l'intérieur du corps à l'aide d'ondes sonores et de champs magnétiques, afin de faciliter l'étude des fonctions biologiques in vivo et le développement d'agents diagnostiques et thérapeutiques basés sur les cellules.

Conférence animé par Mikhail Shapiro, Professeur à Caltech, Investigateur à HHMI et Fondateur et Conseiller.

Mikhail Shapiro is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Caltech and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He received his PhD in Biological Engineering from MIT and his BSc in Neuroscience from Brown. He joined Caltech after conducting postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago and the University of California Berkeley. The Shapiro lab develops biomolecular technologies allowing cells to be imaged and controlled inside the body using sound waves and magnetic fields to enable the study of biological function in vivo and the development of cell-based diagnostic and therapeutic agents.
Mikhail Shapiro has been awarded a Fullbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair by the Franco-American Fulbright Commission, supporting his stay in France during the academic year 2024-2025: he will be conducting research and teaching at the Institute Physics for Medicine Paris (ESPCI Paris-PSL, Inserm, CNRS).
