About this Event
Volunteer with Rethink Waste this semester for the Campus Race to Zero Waste Gameday Challenge. This event aims to divert as much organic and recyclable waste from the landfill as possible. We as a University have won in several categories over the years and would like to uphold our success, Rethink Waste has partnered with food services to make this a possibility. By making single use products compostable and educating you and fans on what goes where. Our three waste streams is how we can get to the top once again. While you monitor your designated bins and clean the arena post-game use this a guide on which bins common items go in:
Landfill:
burger and hotdog wrappers (looks like foil but is mixed material)
candy wrappers
condiment packets
much of Chick-fil-A's single use items like forks
Compost:
Our forks, spoons, and knives (labeled compostable)
Our Pepsi cups, straws and lids
All food outside of it's packaging
Drink trays
Paper boats (fries come in these)
Paper napkins and paper towels
Paper bags brown
Liquids
Recycling:
Bottles
Aluminum Cans
Large paper products
