He can always surprise you with a rare classic that crosses time zones and still hits the spot even now. You will always feel the warmth of the crowd around the decks watching him spin away as they dance. The variation in his style of music is endless.
What makes him so different from the rest? A unique ability to spin everything from Deep House to his funky Tribal Bass lines mixed with threads of Acid which creates soundscapes that cross all barriers. His collection of rare & classic records can be heard at his gigs.
He continuously chooses and enjoys mixing with digital and analogue gear as he creates his own signature style of DJ’ing & Recordings. ABOUT DJ WICKED
DJ Wicked’s legacy as a mainstay in the Northwest music scene holds a rich history spanning over three decades. Referred to as “the poster-boy for party-rockin”, Wicked is the founder of Portland, Oregon’s longest running, cherished weekly Hip-Hop party, “Wicked Wednesdays”… a Portland Hip-Hop institution for 26 years and going.
As an iconic, Portland Hip-Hop ambassador, Wicked’s diverse DJ sets combined with his tasteful record selection, top-notch turntable skills, and devotion to preserve quality Hip-Hop music has earned him the honor to share the stage with some of the most prestigious DJ talent in the industry- Grandmaster Flash, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Mix Master Mike, DJ Shadow, Z-Trip, DJ Q-Bert and more.
Best known for his critically acclaimed, self-released mix CD's: "Got Milf?" (a collection of 80's guilty pleasures), "Just Plain Terror" (a Halloween inspired mix), and "Fuck the Radio" (an Underground musical assault against mainstream rap music), DJ Wicked has collaborated with the likes of KXNG Crooked, 2MEX, Grayskul, Potluck and Twiztid. He’s received recognition from publications such as URB, SPIN, and The SOURCE magazine. This helped lead Wicked to a contestant spot on the BET reality show/DJ competition “Master Of The Mix”.
Revered for his authentic, all vinyl DJ sets, Wicked’s determination and dedication to the art form has led him to opening shows for the likes of the Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, and Outkast. Performing on the Northwest stretch of some of the most prestigious DJ tours of all time- the Future Primitive Sound Sessions, Deeper Concentration, and the legendary "Scratch" Tour. Wicked has also showcased his talent both nationally and internationally at a number of high profile music festivals- North by Northwest, South by Southwest, and the "Avataria" music festival in France.
Wicked has performed at numerous action-sports industry events- the Dew tour, demos for both DC Shoes and Girl Skateboards. Teaming up for a variety of corporate events with Adidas, Toyota/Scion, Skullcandy Headphones, NIKE and Pony, amongst others.
ABOUT MARK BRODY
Mark Brody is a Portland, Oregon native and pioneer in the electronic music scene in the Pacific Northwest. Mark started DJ'ing in Portland nightclubs back in 1987. It was then that he realized sharing music with the world was his calling.
In 1991, Mark started diving into event production, and promoting, and was a part in throwing Portland's first rave/warehouse parties.
Through the passage of time, Mark's music style has evolved into what he sums up as 'GFM' (Good F'in Music) - a semi-psychedelic journey, stopping off in many realms of the house music genre. From the deepest of deep, to tribal tech sounds, with an occasional dash of throwback funk or 80's classics to kick it up. Mark is very much a crowd pleaser and a storyteller with his music.
In the recent years, Mark Brody has broadened on to the festival circuit, and has performed at events such as SOAK (Portland's regional burn), Cascadia, Tropical Oasis Kauai, SHIFT, Symbiosis Oregon Eclipse, Firefall, and the one and only Burning Man.
Mark has also booked a wide variety of performers to play his current hometown of Bend, Oregon - including opening for, and playing B2B with house legends Doc Martin, Mark Farina and DJ Dan. Mark Brody has a unique and mesmerizing way to captivate your dancing feet.
Wicked has been a catalyst in Portland’s thriving Hip-Hop community. He continues to host a number of DJ residencies in the Portland area (including the legendary "WICKED WEDNESDAYS"), performing at clubs, parties, concerts and nightlife events across the nation. Currently in the studio working on his next full-length release, DJ Wicked continues to maintain his reputation as the most tenacious and sought after DJ in the Northwest.
