During this evening's program we will follow "Turtle Tracks: A Sea Turtle's Journey". Gather under the stars this week to trace the incredible, yet fragile, journey of the magnificent sea turtles that visit our park’s beaches and reefs, and learn about the seasonal ritual of nesting to explore the entire life story of the Keys' most iconic marine reptile:
We will discover more abouy the life-long, trans-oceanic migrations of species like the Loggerhead, Green, and critically endangered Hawksbill turtles that call these waters home. We’ll discuss how scientists use satellite tracking to uncover the mysterious "lost years" of their journey, and we will explore the current threats sea turtles face—from marine debris and boat strikes to light pollution—and learn the essential role we all play in their survival. You'll leave knowing exactly what you can do to keep their nesting beaches safe.
