A workshop series in outdoor preparedness. Designed to build confidence, skills, and safety for exploring the outdoors. Each session will focus on a different aspect of outdoor preparedness, making this series an ideal starting point for anyone new to or curious about hiking, camping, or adventuring in bigger terrain like the Adirondacks.Participants can expect a blend of information sharing, group discussion, hands-on activities, and opportunities to practice skills during each session.
Sessions include:
Hiking Know-How: What your body and mind should be training for before hitting the trail.
Camping Basics: What to expect on an overnight, how to pack, and how to set up camp.
Basic First Aid: Common outdoor injuries and ailments, plus simple ways to be prepared.
Leave No Trace: How to protect the environments we explore and recreate responsibly.
This is a family friendly event (suitable for children with parent/guardian supervision).
