This course is for you if you are considering being (or already committed) to being a Treasurer for a campaign for 2026, you are a candidate for local or state office in 2026 or thinking about it. Or maybe you are curious about how hard it is to be a Treasurer, or you want to make sure you're doing it right. Every campaign must have a treasurer before they can accept donations or spend any money. This info is vital for anyone considering being a candidate.
Being a Campaign Treasurer is not as difficult as you think. City and County candidates can and often are their own Treasurer. But you have to do it right or you could be fined for missing a report deadline or failing to report properly.
Your trainer is Cathy Watts, our Vice President. Cathy has been a Treasurer for a candidate for State House as well as currently a Treasurer for Victoria Broderick for US Congress. She has pulled together all of the information you will need to do the job properly. You'll be able to ask lots of questions and feel more confident in your ability to properly report donations and expenses for a campaign.
This course will be offered again if you are unable to attend this time. Admission is FREE, but you must be a Democrat to attend.
