Campaign For a Decent NHS Pay Rise - Eastbourne DGH

Further to the action day on 1st April, UNISON continues to fight for a decent pay rise for NHS staff.
This will take place at the main roundabout at the entrance to the Eastbourne District General Hospital from 14.30 on Monday 17 May 2021.
The government has recommended to the pay review body that NHS staff in England should receive a paltry 1% pay rise. Everyone working in the NHS deserves a decent pay rise. That is why we are asking the government to give all staff a pay rise of at least £2,000.
The clapping has stopped, so now is the time for NHS staff to be properly rewarded for their work over the past year. With the news that NHS workers in Scotland will be offered a pay rise of at least 4% (with 5.4% for the lowest paid staff) plus the already paid, one off £500 bonus, it shows everyone just how out of step the government is, in the way they are treating health workers in England.
The branch has considered very carefully on how we could keep up the pressure in a Covid safe way.
We are therefore arranging a socially distanced show of solidarity with NHS staff with an afternoon demonstration at the roundabout at the entrance to the Eastbourne District General Hospital from 14.30 until 4.00pm on Monday 11th May 2021.
Staff working on the day, are invited to join us for 5-10 mins when they can.
If you are passing in your car at the time, a toot from your car-horn would be greatly appreciated.
Bring your own placard for support if you wish.
It would be useful to know potential numbers, so please RSVP to me at [email protected]
