About this Event
At Cammeray we play Association Croquet. The aim of the game is to make hoops with your balls while at the same time making it difficult for your opponent to make hoops with theirs Players take turns in having an innings and the innings lasts for as long as the player continues to have success in playing a particular sequence of shots. Once they 'break down' their opponent comes on to the lawn and has an innings.
Sound complicated.? It is not really. Getting the hang of the required sequence is easy then it is a question of developing the skill to successfully play each type of shot. Once you have the basic skills you can develop your strategy - how to make best best use of all four balls during your innings.
We will pair you with a very patient experienced player and take you through a short doubles game against another beginner/experienced player pair . It will be fun, you will meet some nice people and we will socialise over wine and cheese after the games.
If you decide it might be just what you were looking for in the way of a sport you can continue into old age you can sign up for a course of 1 hour lessons and be welcomed as a new member of our very friendly club.
