About this Event
HI! I'm Sarah Moshman.
I'm a Filmmaker who works in both narrative and documentary. As an independent filmmaker I often need to operate as a one woman band and go out and shoot an interview or grab some broll for a project I'm getting off the ground. I often hear from people the intimidation they have of camera equipment whether they never went to film school, don't remember the basics, or simply don't have the opportunity to get their hands a little dirty and learn! If this is you, (no experience necessary) then join us for this empowering workshop at VIDCAM in Burbank!
We will cover CAMERA BASICS like setting up a tripod and attaching the camera securely, iris, focus, white balance, resolution, formatting cards, framing, composition, rule of thirds, eyeline, and more.
AUDIO BASICS - setting up a boom mic and a lav mic for a standard sit down interview set up.
LIGHTING BASICS - how to set up lights safely, 3 point lighting, and lighting options/color temperature.
My approach to teaching is very casual, warm and nurturing. Nothing about this is intimidating I promise. This is a safe space to try things and ask questions.
I will bring some copies of my book - a $30 value to sell on the day for $20.

Hope to see you there! This is an IN PERSON CLASS ONLY, virtual doesn't work nearly as well when it's a hands on class like this.
