This will be an in-person meeting, held before the regular OCC meeting. September 9th will be the third in the series of four OCC Camera Academy "boot camps" offered this year, taught by highly experienced award-winning photographers.
Join us in learning more or refreshing your knowledge about your camera and photography.
Pre-registration is NOT required. All paid members of OCC can attend these classes for free. Non-members can attend for just $20 per class; or $55 for all four classes which would also include a full year's membership (starting the date you join) in the Orlando Camera Club!
This Class:
In the third class of four in the series Al Aikens will be presenting "Image Composition" during this in-person meeting.
Instructor Bio:
Al Aikens is a retired geologist/hydrogeologist. He is technical and takes a technical approach to approaching a scene, composing, and taking photographs.
His perspective is based on landscape, nature, and macro photography
Al has been shooting since 1980 - Olympus OM-10 w/ Sigma 18-85mm lens
Reinvigorated in 2010 – various Nikon bodies (D3000, D5300, D500)
Currently Z6 and Z8 with 14-30mm f/4, 28-70mm f/4, 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6, and 16mm f/1.8 lenses; selected filters; and a tall sturdy tripod with a fluid head and leveling base
Al has participated in photography workshops throughout the west and northwest US and the Great Smoky Mountains NP in the eastern US
He also plans and implements his own photographic adventures
Al will be the new OCC field trip coordinator and is currently in the process of transitioning to that position.
These meetings will be held in person from 5:00-6:00 pm at the Marks Street Senior Center, before the regular Orlando Camera Club meetings.
