About this Event
Join Matt Hall (@the13thsecond) and Craig Whitehead (@sixstreetunder) for a collaborative street photography workshop on the streets of their home town and prepare to see the world in a creative new way.
Very few photographers know Cambridge as well as these guys, having spent thousands of hours perfecting their craft on the city's streets. They are now ready to share their passion, knowledge and tips and tricks during these exclusive workshops.
These group sessions will be a great introduction to the basics of street photography and will also offer further insights into the more challenging aspects of the genre, making it suitable for newcomers and experienced photographers alike.
During each workshop the following areas will be covered :
• Getting over the fear of shooting strangers on the streets.
• What to look out for, anticipation and how to work a scene.
• Composition, framing and subframing techniques.
• How to isolate your subject.
• Advice on camera settings for different shooting conditions.
• Layering interest in your work.
• Utilising the environment to your benefit.
• Introducing textures.
In maintaining small groups on these workshops, Craig and Matt will be able to offer clear instructions to the groups and also be able to spend time with the individual participants, answering any specific questions that they may have.
Meeting at Cambridge Railway Station the groups will follow preplanned routes taking in various locations, finishing at approximately 3.30 pm.
Please wear comfortable shoes, suitable clothing for the weather and bring your camera of choice (with spare batteries). There will be plenty of opportunity to grab some refreshment along the route but bringing a bottle of water is advised.
This event is limited to 8 people.
