Pistol One (Day 1)

8 hours

Course Description

So, you have a handgun and a permit to protect yourself and your family–What is next? This class builds upon your basic shooting skills, enhances your abilities to operate your weapon, and provides the tools necessary for FIGHTING with your handgun. This class is essential for anyone who carries a concealed firearm, but it is also a critical class for operating your handgun inside or outside your home and in the everyday world. This class is what we consider to be the minimum, “first” class you should take if you have a firearm for self-defense, covering the most essential skills for pistol manipulation to be integrated into FIGHTING with your handgun and other everyday carry tools. This is a mildly physical class with lots of movement and thinking! While no drill is mandatory, it is encouraged you keep an open mind and bring/use what your normal EDC gear is. This class has been taught worldwide and is our introduction class for handgun operations.

You should be familiar with firearms safety, the manual of arms for your weapon, and shooting at a range with others. In this class you ARE EXPECTED to have at least a basic understanding of how to operate your firearm—we hit this class running. Conduct yourself accordingly.

Course Description

This class continues off our Pistol 1 class, with the focus is to help students continue to develop the fighting mindset, skills, and attitude needed for the “above average” expectations of the common pistol engagement paradigm. You will shoot under dynamic situations with as much realism as possible. Taught worldwide, this class offers an introduction to the nitty/gritty of close quarters protective shooting. You will cover various skills, including how to operate a handgun under stress, “timed” drills, multiple target and combat speed marksmanship, various handgun presentations, dynamic movement, basic physical contact drills and close-range/CQB fighting integration will be covered. The primary skills you will focus on will focus on the close inter-personal space. This is a slightly moderately physical class. Again, while no drill is mandatory, it is highly encouraged for all students to participate!
