This course requires all dogs to complete an initial consultation and potentially some one-to-one work before joining this course. In the group, we work on reducing the novelty of seeing other dogs, bringing down the arousal when there are dogs around, and help them get to the point of being able to listen and learn new things in these environments. We will work on polite approaches to each other, but only once each dog is ready. Some dogs may need to repeat this course a number of times to gain sufficient practice to achieve this.
We always follow scientifically verified, aversion free training and behaviour techniques. There are no harsh methods or tools throughout. At all times we follow the code of ethics of both the APDT and IMDT.
