About this Event
Join us for a neighborhood green loop walk led by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Biologist, Meri Holm.
We will meet at Circle Forest (3301 E Palmer St. Detroit) and then walk part of the East Ferry Warren Green Loop including Callahan Park.
Cirle Forest is a native habitat restoration project by Arboretum Detroit started in 2021. Callahan Park is the first Detroit Bird City park, it was restored with a native grass and flower meadow in 2019. The East Ferry Warren Green Loop is a path through several green space projects in the East Poletown neighborhood of Detroit. Along the loop we plan to visit a couple other Arboretum Detroit sites including Oxygen Alley, and Treetroit 1. Meri has been a huge part of these projects and the Detroit Bird City project through the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program by providing essential resources and guidance.
We will provide binoculars for anyone who would like to borrow them.
Please note there is no restroom available. Only street parking is available. Please dress for the weather and ready to walk through tall grasses.
If you have any questions, or arrive late and need to find the group, please call Ava at 248-885-4487.
