Call for Participation & How to Create a March Video!World Puppet Day is March 21, 2023, and RoRo Art, with support from the Western Massachusetts Puppetry Guild (WMPG), is creating a Virtual Puppet Parade to show puppets from ALL AROUND THE WORLD!
To participate record a short video of your puppet marching and send it to Robin by March 6! (Instructions below.)
You can start sending videos NOW, but videos are due by March 6, 2023!
ANY kind of puppet is welcome! If possible, please show WHERE you are in the world! (For example, you could show a landmark or monument, or the flag for your country, province, or state. This is optional, any background is great!)
You can get creative, but there are the steps to follow to be part of the Parade:
STEP 1:
A. Your video clip must be short! The puppet enters, crosses the screen, and exits, within a few seconds!
B. Cross the screen travelling from RIGHT to LEFT.*
C. You can stop in the middle of the screen and do something fun if you want, but do it quickly! (It helps to hum your own music, or count down the seconds.)
D. Your video doesn’t need any sound; music will be added to the parade when it is edited. (It’s okay if your character wants to cheer or roar!)
E. If you use your phone, shoot HORIZONTALLY. You can use any kind of camera.

STEP 2:
A. Email your video to [email protected]. Please use Wetransfer.com to send your file. It’s an easy-to-use file transfer service.
B. Please email Robin a short message to let her know that you are sending a video!
C. Robin will email you when she gets your video file to confirm your name, the puppet’s name, and your location in the World. (Please use the same email for Robin to reply to when you send your video, and check your spam folder – if you don’t hear from Robin within a few days, please email her directly.) Thank you!
D. Your video is due by MARCH 6, 2023 – Robin needs time to edit!

If you need any help recording your video, or have any questions, contact Robin at [email protected]. If you cannot shoot your own video, but would still like to participate, Robin can set up a Zoom call and record your march on Zoom – contact her for that option.
WMPG may have a special parade video collecting event; info will be posted if that happens!
