Call for Art: Giftable Art & Hand-Crafted Gift Items under $100Submission Period: November 1 - 15
Exhibit dates: December 5 - December 24, 2025
HIVE artspace will be transforming into a wonderland of fabulous, fun, funky giftable art and hand-crafted gift items under $100 for our Holiday Bzzzaar gift-buying show in December! If you are familiar with us, you know we have a big love for fun, weird, quirky, and spooky art - yes, even during the gifting season (Krampus items welcomed!) - as well as more traditional styles of artwork. This is an open theme, meaning items DO NOT need to be holiday-themed (although they can be), all mediums are welcome for submission, as well as handmade ornaments, housewares, wearables, and other things that make great gifts.
There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration. Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit.
SUBMISSION NOTES:
• Up to 3 submissions allowed, or groupings of similar giftable items. See important note below regarding submission images.
• There is no fee to submit, but there is a $5 exhibit fee for accepted artists ($5 total regardless of number of artworks accepted.)
• Gallery Commission is 35% on artworks sold.
• Final artwork must be wired or otherwise ready-to-hang/display.
TO SUBMIT (please read carefully):
Please send ONE E-MAIL with subject line GIFT2025 to [email protected] with the following items:
• Your name as it should appear on exhibit materials, with your city & state.
• Up to 3 image submissions in low-resolution jpeg format. Images must clearly represent the work, as these images will be used in the accompanying on-line gallery. Watch for glare / background clutter, photographing them against a white or solid colored wall is best for our use. Indirect natural light will give you the truest colors and nicest lighting for your images. Please get them as "square" in the frame as possible.
• If you have collections of similar items (i.e. soaps, ceramics, ornaments, etc) please send 3 images of the best representations, as well as a group image of what you have available.
• Title, medium, size*, price for each artwork submitted (in that order please) *Please include actual artwork size AND framed size as applicable.
• Link to more of your artwork on-line (optional, but highly recommended).
• Any time constraints you may have, i.e. shipping, printing, or framing time needed.
• List any other places in York, PA where you will have work on display during the exhibit timeframe.
IMPORTANT DATES:
• Deadline for submissions: November 15 by midnight.
• Drop-off for accepted artwork: Sunday, November 30.
• Exhibit Opens: First Friday December 5, from 5-9.
• Exhibit Dates: December 5-24, 2025.
• End of show artwork pick-up: December 27-28.
