About this Event
Join Brenda Loukes (visual artist) & Roman Goron (jazz pianist) for an evening of creative exploration.
Imagine watching a lively experimental interaction between a jazz pianist and a painter, where the artists respond in real time to each other’s creative expressions.
Call and Response will be a live, 2-hour event where these two artists will create works of art spontaneously in front of an audience. Attendees will be invited to participate in a light ‘doodling activity’ facilitated by Brenda. Their ‘doodles’ will be added to the painting to make a community artwork.
We want to demonstrate how creativity has a place in our lives as a tool for healing and problem-solving.
Brenda has witnessed people being moved to tears by the experience of being allowed to create freely without the expectation of a ‘perfect product’.
You will leave feeling inspired and uplifted by witnessing the experimental nature of the creative process, and experience what magic can be achieved through collaboration.
Maybe you’ll go home and paint, redecorate or play your old piano?
Or maybe you'll remember how 'doodling' helped you to relax when you were a child.
PS: no art talent or experience is needed.
All (except children under 15) are welcome.
