ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Olga Perez, Research Data Analyst for the California Employment Development Department’s (EDD) Labor Market Information Division (LMID) for the Los Angeles County, has served in this capacity since June 2005. As an LMID research data analyst, Olga is one of the Lead Consultants in Los Angeles Coastal Area. Bringing on board all her prior experience, allows her to understand the needs of her customers in the Los Angeles County and help them make critical decisions on workforce policy by providing data on industries and occupations. Olga also supports Santa Barbara County and Orange County and provides the same services to this area. She not only provides services to local government officials, employers, educational administrators, but anyone in need of labor market information at the state, county and local level.


Olga began her career with EDD in May 1999 in the Workforce Services Branch Program were she assisted clients, became the lead for Job Search Workshops in both English and Spanish, and later became a state trainer for Workforce Services Branch. As a trainer, she taught both new and seasoned employees the different programs and requirements. In 2004 she transferred to the Department’s Disability office, as an Adjudicator. Prior to joining state service Olga worked in the private sector where she honed her customer service skills.


Olga earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mount St. Mary’s College. During that time, she assisted one of her professors in several studies regarding psychological testing theory. Olga also graduated from the University of Phoenix with her Master’s degree in Psychology while working fulltime.
