For quite some time now, americana has also been making its way into the Belgian music landscape. The musicians of Calicos have had a firm grip on this from their victory at the Humo's Rock Rally in 2018. On their debut album The Soft Landing, their mix of indie, Americana and folk rock flowed into a haunting whole.
Three years later, they come with a new record AND a new sound. Calicos retain their subtly interwoven and refined guitar work, but now also explore the more alternative sides of the genre: think Kurt Vile or Sharon Van Etten's indie. Live, they have already proved their quality several times over and now Calicos are back for good!
