Glasgow’s Northern Soul club returns on vinyl only with very special guest, Edinburgh’s Andy Dennison. Andy last DJ’d at Caledoniasoul in November 2005 and it’s a pleasure to welcome him back to a brand new venue for Calesoul.
One of the original Allanton allnighter DJs and now among the top tier of UK Northern Soul collectors, expect the very best including early sets promoting lesser known and underplayed 45s from Andy’s extensive record collection.

Calesoul started in 2001 at The Woodside Social Club in a backstreet of Glasgow’s West End. The night can trace its roots all the way back to the late 80s and early 90s pre-internet years when sharper clubbers, new-mods, reggae-skinheads and members of the city’s world-famous indie bands hung out at the Goodfoot Club to hear the best in Soul, Funk and Mod Jazz.
Calesoul is different, with the emphasis on pushing underplayed and underrated discs, but there’s no shortage of classic floorfillers, all aimed squarely at the dancefloor.
Our new venue has been in the crosshairs for several years, and among the team is thought to be simply the best venue remaining in Glasgow for a Northern Soul event. At its heart, an old-fashioned social club, but tastefully refurbished and 'designed for Soul' with a large polished wooden dancefloor surrounded by comfortable seating. Since the introduction of the Low Emissions Zone in the city centre, and increasing cost of taxi journeys, the excellent public transport links and spacious car parking located outside the LEZ make it ideal for both local Soul fans and travellers.
