About this Event
The cycle training programme aims to enable more people to travel by bike. It is delivered as part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s cycling and walking programme, @CityConnect1 @cyclecityconnect in partnership with local authorities and local delivery partners, including Colne Valley Cycle Therapy CIC, in Calderdale.
Sessions are available to all adults aged 16+. You can choose to use your own bike, or one will be provided for you. Please note: there are no toilet facilities available at the track.
Our Saturday sessions are run by two qualified and highly experienced instructors and are suitable for:
First time riders – Learn how to ride for the first time. These sessions are held on the athletics track and traffic-free routes. You will be given tips to help your balance, so you progress to pedalling with confidence.
Improve your bike control in a safe environment. These sessions are held on the athletics track. You will learn how to control your bike and make it go where you want, as well as how to use gears to make going up hill much easier.
If you would like to learn how to cycle on quiet roads in light traffic, please email us at [email protected] to let us know and we will look to put a session on. There is no cost to this training.
All we ask if that if you can't attend a session, please come back to Eventbrite and cancel your place. We always have a waiting list of people wanting to attend. Our funding depends on people turning up, so without you, we won't be able to continue.
We hope to see you soon.
