Proudly Presented By Cairns African AssociationCombining Africa Day and the International Day of the African Child celebrations, the Cairns African Festival this year will be bigger and better!
With free African drumming workshops, African craft and charity stalls, African food stalls, Fashion Parade and an array of talented local and interstate performers, the Cairns African Festival is the biggest African cultural event in the region.
Headlining Acts this year are:-
Jack Manasi and the Afro Kick Band - An 8 piece Congolese Soukous Band with infectious guitar grooves based out of Brisbane.
Epizo Bangoura - A multitalented award winning virtuoso of the Djembe (African drum) and other traditional instruments of his homeland Guinea, West Africa.

Free drumming workshops for children will be held in the week leading up to the festival. Children who participate may perform on the festival stage.
2 free adult drum workshops will take place in Tank 3 in the morning from 9:30am.
