Established in 2022 as a continuation of Betsy's legacy at the Preservation Society of Charleston, the annual Elizabeth Kirkland Cahill Distinguished Lecture is intended to advance the educational mission of the Preservation Society by featuring a nationally recognized thought leader in the field of urban planning, historic preservation, tourism management, or a related field. We are honored to welcome Bob Vila, host of 'This Old House,' as the inaugural speaker for this series. Vila serves alongside Cahill on the Board of Directors of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and has frequented Charleston many times throughout his expansive career.
Renowned local preservation contractor Moby Marks of Richard Marks Restorations, Inc., who appeared on Charleston-based episodes of 'This Old House,' will join Vila in conversation about the importance of historic preservation and inspiring the next generation. The lecture will take place during National Preservation Month, offering a unique opportunity to learn from a national thought leader like Bob Vila.
Tickets are $20 and $10 for students!
